These pad eyes are for use where there will be a heavy load. They are substantial and meant to stand up to whatever you attach to them (within their working load, of course). Always through-bolt and use a substantial backing for added strength. Your deck will let go before these break! If you need a really strong pad eye, use our square pad eye.
